WHAT DO ECLIPSES MEAN? The simplest way to look at eclipses is to say that they re-balance something in your life or your environment. Another way is to say that a New Moon eclipse signals that, like the captain of a ship, you may need to reset your course of direction, in the house of the New Moon, because what you have been doing has gotten you off course. The following Full Moon eclipse then might mean that your proper direction in life requires that you clean up your act in the house of the full moon.
WHY ARE WE "HOOKED" ON THE MOON PHASES? Because we have spent 40 years following the Moon Phases to see what we could learn from them. We read all the books we could find, but none of them answered our deeper questions or suggested that we had happened upon a true spiritual technology. We could see that we had made a real discovery involving the time from Late Neolithic evolution of consciousness to our own contemporary times, but lost between the age of shamanism and now. Here is some of what we learned from the moon herself.
HOW WE CAN BETTER MANIFEST OUR LIVES. A full 29 day cycle, including all eight of the phases, describes the unfolding of any process. Each month the new moon sends out an energy of intent for the month. It is like the universe giving humanity a project to complete in one month, and this intent is also each individual's assignment. The Sun is the project manager and the Moon is the worker who has the Keys to Manifestation—to making the project real.
All of us have an internal sun and moon that respond to the external sun and moon. That internal sun and moon we are calling, respectively, spirit and soul. Our spirit has certain intentions for us we call destiny, which are scheduled to be manifested monthly, over one’s lifetime. Our internal moon speaks for our soul and, believe it or not, all of us have that key to manifestation. We use it every hour of every day—mostly unconsciously. So why do we sit around and say, "I don't know what to do about such and such." Or why do we end a month by saying regretfully, "I just didn't accomplish anything?" If we knew what moon-soul was trying to tell us, we might understand that either we were meant to have a "time out" or maybe we would have done something that we were afraid we would fail at, so we did nothing, because we weren’t ready.
Whatever, paying attention to the moon phases and what they have to tell us can help us see ahead a little way in this murky earth environment, to find the meaning of our personal ongoing activities, and the most effective way to pursue them. It is much easier and more fun to participate actively in our daily lives when we understand what we are doing and why. The “why” gives us a sense of meaning and purpose. The” what” defines the nature of the month’s project. We have found that pursuing our highest intent as best we can, with more informed awareness, does indeed integrate spirit, soul, and physical action and bring us better experiences.
